Strategy Lead
Sreelakshmi (Sree) is a 25 years old, born in south India and raised in UAE, currently living in Calgary, AB for the past 10 years. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Royal University. For the past 9 years, she has been a youth mentor with Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association training and mentoring young immigrant girls and women to build leadership and community engagement skills. She is also involved with Wisdom2Action as an Advisory board member for an Anti-Black Racism Initiative, Project Development and Implementation team lead for Canada Microgrant Project with Leading with Colour, and Youth Member and Workshop Facilitator with Young Canadian Roundtable on Health among other community empowerment commitments. She has also been invited to participate in Youthful Cities FFWD2020, UN CSW65 conference, YMCA Think big Lead Now conference, and the UNITE 2030 Youth SDG Summit. With almost 10 years of experience in youth leadership programs, she is an avid advocate for health equity, intentional community engagement, strategic collaboration and well-being development especially pertaining to racialized and marginalized youth and women.
