Shari Virjee-Tanada

Shari considers herself a learning and inclusion strategist, having held a range of positions including intercultural facilitator, orientation trainer, capacity building specialist, program manager, learning coordinator, team lead, instructional designer, and occupation-specific language instructor. Her work experience across public, private, non-profit, and intergovernmental organizations has focused on educational development and professional learning within the contexts of international humanitarian organizations, multilateral banks, post-secondary institutions, and the settlement sector. Shari has lived and worked/studied in Canada, the UK, Japan, the Philippines, and Vietnam. She holds an M.Ed in Educational Technology and BA in Sociology from UBC, a post-graduate diploma in Applied International Management from Capilano University, and in 2020 earned an Award of Achievement in Diversity & Inclusion from UBC’s Centre for Intercultural Studies. She is passionate about engaging groups in self-reflection and dialogue to create more inclusive workplaces.
